Two Things
First, Mike the Right-Wing Spic is posting again. His link is over in yon links section. If you're a lefty you'll hate him but that's half the fun.
Second, I feel compelled to share with you one of the top ten stupidest things I ever did. Once upon a time back in the 80's I bought a brand new Gibson Les Paul Custom. Black. This is perhaps the nicest (IMHO) electric guitar on the face of the planet. Well, a year or so later Eddie Van Halen made Kramer the most desireable guitar for those of us in the tight-panted big hair demographic so of course I traded the Les Paul in on a nice Kramer. Well, 20 some odd years later I still have the Kramer. It's worth about 300 bucks. The Les Paul? Oh, I could probably get about $2000 for it. The real killer? I want a Les Paul. Bad. I believe I'll soon be having a conversation with my wife.....
"Honey, would you mind terribly if I........"

Well lets see,.. I had a 73 gold top that got stolen,... I sold 70-something twin reverb when I was broke,.. Should have kept it and sold my 70-something dodge dart... Several late 60's strats later,... AARRGGHHH...
I should mention that in the mid-90s', I had a Gibson SG Custom that was stolen and taken to the pawn shop... by our DRUMMER (Dan). He had a bit of a "substance" issue. Fortunately, Rick (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Paco (bass) retrieved it for me. That same drummer also stole, and pawned, Rick's vintage Fender Bassman 2X12 combo. Rick didn't get to the pawn shop in time, however - it was sold the previous day. Ya gotta love rock 'n' roll...
I think I can see how this will play out:
Kev: "Honey, would you mind terribly if..."
Kev's wife: *icy stare, arms crossed* "What?"
Kev: "well, I'd like to buy um.."
Kev's wife: "No."
Kev: "But, I--"
Kev's wife: "Take out the garbage"
That very same short dialogue took place in my kitchen last week.
I dunno G. I'm pretty crafty when it comes to getting new toys. I mean I pulled off a brand spanking new piano a couple of years ago.
I once explained away an amplifier by saying I had left it at someones house years ago and was just bringing it home,...
Try THAT with a piano.....
Matter of fact I think my Marshall was at Kev's house for a long time...
Crafty, eh? Do you have said gheee-tar yet?
No. This is a slow process and I am a patient hunter. First, the groundwork must be laid.
Me: "Remember that really cool Les Paul I had back in the eighties?"
Her: "No"
Me: "Man, that was a great guitar"
Her: "You're not buying a new guitar."
Thus the seed will be sewn. From here I begin to chip away.
Chip. Chip. Chip. Chip.
Three months.
